An order for forty-nine B737-8s and four A330-800Ns remain on the books for Garuda Indonesia (GA, Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta) despite decisions not to take them. Notes accompanying the airline's 2024 financial statements, lodged with the Indonesian Stock Exchange on March 26, 2025, also reveal that Garuda negotiated a deal with Airbus in 2019 to terminate a 2012 A320-200N order and have pre-delivery payments returned in exchange for leasing A320 Family aircraft to use at low-cost subsidiary Citilink. Last year, former CEO Irfan Setiaputra said the airline wanted to place a fresh order for 40 to 50 narrowbodies. However, that order is yet to occur, and Setiaputra is no longer at the airline.
