Air Serbia (JU, Belgrade Nikola Tesla) plans to issue a fleet expansion tender to Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac), Boeing (BOE, Washington National) and Bombardier Aerospace (BBA, Montréal Trudeau) for the supply of aircraft from 2016 onwards. According to EX-YU Aviation News, the revelation was disclosed by Air Serbia’s CEO, Dane Kondić ahead of the delivery of the airline's third A319-100. “We’ve started a tender process for a major fleet expansion to introduce the latest Boeing, Airbus or Bombardier aircraft with deliveries starting in 2016. The A319s are great, but whichever aircraft we select for this second phase will be the most modern and state of the art on the market”, he said. The airline has already announced an ambitious expansion plan which could see long-haul flights to Chicago O'Hare and Toronto Pearson launch by 2016.
