Turkmenistan Airlines (T5, Ashgabat) will begin offering long-haul flights out of Ashgabat later this year once the construction of a runway capable of handling the type is completed. Presently, the Turkmenistani national carrier has one B777-200(LR) on the ground with a second - EZ-A778 (msn 42296) - due for delivery from Boeing (BOE, Washington National) shortly.
Among the long-haul destinations being considered include Hanoi Noi Bai International and Toronto Pearson Central Asia Aero News reported.
The carrier also operates B717-200s, B737-300s, B737-700s, B737-800s, B757-200s and CRJ700s on flights which cover domestic routes as well as Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and the CIS.
