AeroLap Paraguay Airlines (Asuncion) has indeed postponed its launch from June to December of this year as a result of delays in securing its Air Operators Certificate from the Paraguayan civil aviation authority (Dirección Nacional de Aeronáutica Civil - DINAC).
Paraguayan newspaper Negocios says the start-up has now met members of the Paraguayan Association of Travel and Tourism Enterprises (Asatur) to appraise them of the situation.
Backed by local businessmen to the tune of USD180million, AeroLap has secured three former Qantas (QF, Sydney Kingsford Smith) B767-300(ER)s for use in launching transatlantic flights to Madrid Barajas. Thus far, only one of the twinjets, N254MY (msn 25443), has been ferried to Asuncion with the rest still parked at Kansas City International.
