Amaszonas (Z8, La Paz El Alto) is looking to expand its international network with reports president Sergio de Urioste has held preliminary talks with Honduran authorities about the possibility of his airline choosing Honduras for its maiden Central American flights.

Radio Honduras reports Urioste as having met the country's Director of the Institute of Tourism, Emilio Silvestri, to discuss the facilities currently available to airlines. He also discussed the possibility of his airline obtaining domestic Honduran traffic rights.

"During the meeting with the airline's top executives, the Director of Tourism emphasized the country's four international airports - San Pedro Sula, Tegucigalpa, Roatán, and La Ceiba - which could allow tourists to access non-traditional tourist destinations," the station said.

Amaszonas currently offers extensive domestic Bolivian coverage with regional flights to Montevideo Carrasco in Uruguay, Brasília Juscelino Kubitschek International, Campo Grande International, and Cuiabá Marechal Rondon in Brazil, and Asuncion in Paraguay.
