Air Koryo (JS, Pyongyang) will resume scheduled domestic flights later this month Reuters has reported. Quoting Chinese tourism officials familiar with the development, the newswire says the flights are intended to stimulate foreign tourism.
In the past, visitors have had to rely on chartered Air Koryo aircraft in order to travel domestically.
The North Korean national carrier currently operates a fleet of four Il-62s, two Tu-154Bs, two Tu-204-200s, and an An-148-100 on an exclusively international route network covering flights from Pyongyang to Beijing Capital, Kuala Lumpur International, Shanghai Pudong, Shenyang Taoxian International, and Vladivostok.
