Khuphuka Kings Airways (Durban King Shaka) is looking to venture into the scheduled passenger service market later on in September. South Africa's Tourism Update reports the cargo specialist plans to offer passenger flights from Durban King Shaka to Swaziland, Nigeria, and the Democratic Republic of Congo using an A319-100 and an A320-200.

“We have prioritised cargo for the initial phase and this will give a stable foundation to build on for passenger flights in the next phase,” Marketing Director, Sihle Bam, said.

The carrier is now in the process of securing the requisite certification from the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA).

Khuphuka Kings Airways commenced cargo services between the Kwazulu/Natal hub and Congo earlier this year using two Il-76s and one An-12.
