Primera Air Scandinavia (Billund) has announced the establishement of Primera Air Nordic (Riga) which is scheduled to start operating in October this year. The Danish leisure operator says its new Latvian subsidiary will allow it to expand into new markets outside of Scandinavia.
"Hrafn Thorgeirsson will take over as a CEO of the airline, including Primera Air Scandinavia and Primera Air Nordic. Hrafn has been the managing director of Primera Air Scandinavia during the last 6 years, and will now assume responsibility for the whole airline. At the same time Mr. Jon Karl Olafsson has stepped down as the CEO," the Primera Group said in a statement.
Primera Air Nordic will initially operate a B737-800 WIN. sourced from its Danish parent and plans to open a Network Control Centre in Riga to help oversee all operational demands.
As a member of Denmark's Primera Travel Group (which includes Solresor, Bravo Tours, Lomamatkat, Heimsferðir and Solia), Primera Air Scandinavia's primary goal is to provide air travel services to the leisure market.
