AirAsia India (Bengaluru International) has signed a USD45million agreement with parent, AirAsia (AK, Kuala Lumpur International), concerning the longterm lease of its second A320-200 (sl), VH-ATB (cn 6034). The AirAsia Group said leasing aircraft to other joint venture airlines within the Group "would help to maximise route opportunities in South Asia."
"The term of the agreement shall be for 144 months and AirAsia India shall pay a security deposit in the form of cash or a letter of credit," a statement to the Malaysia Borsa said.
In line with its anticipated short-term growth, AirAsia ordered an additional four A320neo from Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) during the month of August.
