Wizz Air (W6, Budapest) will establish a base in Tuzla International, Bosnia-Herzegovina, in mid-2015 EX-YU Aviation News has reported. The move comes after talks focussing on technical, legal and commercial aspects between airline management and the Tuzla Canton government were held earlier this week.

Though it currently serves Basel/Mulhouse/Freiburg, FR, Dortmund, Eindhoven, Gothenburg City, and Malmö from Tuzla, the Hungarian LCC has set its sights on increasing its throughput from 153'000 pax/annum to 250'000 pax/annum with flights to increase from 13 rotations per week to 21. Among other new destinations being considered in the region is Sarajevo.

Wizz Air already has two bases in the former Yugoslavia; in Skopje and Belgrade respectively.
