Aeroflot (SU, Moscow Sheremetyevo) has established a new entity dubbed "Byudzetniy Perevozchik" (English: "Budget Air Carrier"), Russia's RIA Novosti news agency has reported. The move is a likely precursor to the establishment of a successor to the now defunct Dobrolet (Moscow Sheremetyevo) which was forced to suspend operations in August after just 6 weeks in operation.

In a bid to circumvent the same Western sanctions that scuttled Dobrolet, Aeroflot stated earlier this month that while it intends to equip its renewed LCC subsidiary, tentatively dubbed Dobrolet Plus, with Western aircraft, this time round it will source the jets from Chinese and Singaporean lessors.

With the carrier's launch set for autumn this year, initial flights will likely cover Ufa, St. Petersburg, Samara Kurumoch, Perm Bolshoye Savino, Volgograd, Sochi, Tyumen Roschino, and Surgut.
