Air Berlin (1991) (Berlin Tegel) has announced that with effect from March next year, it is terminating its Dortmund, Germany, operations. A statement issued to German media said the decision was spurred on by the company's ongoing restructuring programme.
According to the ch-aviation route database, the carrier's only route out of the west German industrial city is a seasonal service to Palma de Mallorca with competition coming from the likes of Ryanair (FR, Dublin International) and germanwings (4U, Cologne/Bonn).
