Air Vallée (Rimini) will add a second Fokker 50 to its fleet before the end of the year Matteo Santin, the airline's Chief Commercial Officer has said. The Genoese carrier currently has one Fokker 50 wet-leased from Sweden's Amapola Flyg (HP, Stockholm Arlanda).

"We are the only ones to have a Fokker 50 in our fleet. For now, just one, but by the end of the year, there will be two," he told Italy's TTGITalia newswire. "Its operating capacity is very useful to small and medium-sized tour operators as it lowers the risks involved in block seat-allocation sales and also allows easy access to smaller airports, especially islands in the Mediterranean."

The carrier's sole prop will shortly be deployed on flights from Turin Caselle and Milan Malpensa to Foggia Gino Lisa operating on behalf of Blue Wings Air (Foggia Gino Lisa). Possible flights to Tortolì in Sardinia are also in the pipeline Santin added.
