Austrian Airlines (OS, Vienna) will announce its Fokker Aircraft (Woensdrecht) replacement plans early next year the Austrian Wings aviation portal has stated. The decision, originally due to have been made during the second half of this year, was deferred following a breakdown in talks with its workers unions over a proposed Collective Wage Agreement.

However, following a landmark agreement with unions early last month, airline management committed themselves once more to finalizing a replacement for its fleet of fifteen Fokker 100s and six Fokker 70s.

Among the stronger potential candidates is the A220-100 from Bombardier Aerospace (BBA, Montréal Trudeau) though the A319-100 from Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) and the E190 from Embraer (EMB, São José dos Campos Professor Urbano Ernesto Stumpf) have also been considered.
