Aer Lingus (EI, Dublin International) CEO Christoph Mueller says his airline has been approached by several other carriers interested in establishing an operation akin to that the Irish carrier operates on behalf of Virgin Atlantic's Little Red.

“Other carriers are approaching us to see whether we can do the same for them,” he was quoted by the Irish Independent as telling the Future of Air Transport conference in London. “It all depends on whether we have the aircraft available.”

Little Red uses four A320-200s wet-leased from Aer Lingus on flights from London Heathrow to Manchester International, Aberdeen Dyce, and Edinburgh. However, citing poor uptake, Virgin announced last month that it would be phasing out the operation with effect from March next year with all operations to cease by late September.
