ACG Air Cargo Global (Bratislava) has applied to the US Department of Transportation (DOT) for a foreign carrier permit which would enable it to offer scheduled and charter cargo flights between points located Europe and the United States.
The Slovak cargo specialist says initial operations will include a twice weekly scheduled service from Bratislava and Frankfurt Hahn in Europe to New York JFK and Chicago O'Hare in the United States using its fleet of B747-400(F)s.
ACG Air Cargo Global is majority owned by Slovakian tycoon, Igor Bondarenko, with former Aeroflot-Cargo (Moscow Sheremetyevo) boss, Andrey Goryashko, holding a minority stake. The company is largely based upon its now defunct predecessor, ACG Air Cargo Germany (Frankfurt Hahn), with management, the directors of flight operations, ground operations and network planning, all former ACG Air Cargo Germany personnel.
