Air Burkina (2J, Ouagadougou) is set to add a maiden E170 to its fleet of one CRJ200 and two MD-87s. XT-ABS (cn 17000027), formerly SP-LDD with LOT Polish Airlines, was recently seen at Warsaw Chopin undergoing a repaint before delivery to West Africa.
Despite recent unrest that culminated in a coup d'etat which toppled strongman Blaise Compaoré, Air Burkina's strategic partner, the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED), is confident the Burkinabe national carrier will recover in the short term.
Out of its Ouagadougou hub, it serves Bobo Dioulasso locally as well as Abidjan, Accra, Bamako, Cotonou Cadjehoun, Dakar Yoff-Léopold Sédar Senghor International, Niamey, and Lomé regionally.
