Austrian Airlines (OS, Vienna) has partnered Austrian Federal Railways (Österreichische Bundesbahnen - ÖBB) in launching "AIRail"; an initiative which will allow the airline's passengers to use ÖBB connections between Linz central station and Vienna Airport.

"Integrating Linz into the Austrian Airlines network in this way – in addition to the five daily flights between the two cities already being offered – provides up to eight extra rail connections a day," a joint communique said.

Austrian passengers using AIRail on the Linz-Vienna line will also be able to earn miles on the Miles & More programme in the same way as they would when travelling by air.
