AIS Airlines (Netherlands) (PNX, Lelystad) has taken over two routes from virtual airline Direktflyg (Borlänge/Falun) earlier this year. Namely, the Dutch carrier now operates flights from Borlänge/Falun to Gothenburg Landvetter and from Borlänge/Falun via Örebro to Malmö under its own commercial responsibility.
Both routes are served twice daily during weekdays with Jetstream 32s and sold through a new dedicated website, aisairlines.se.
Prior to the assumption of the routes, AIS Airlines already operated them both on behalf of Direktflyg.
Direktflyg continues to offer public service obligation flights from Östersund to Umeå as its only remaining scheduled service, using an AIS Airlines Jetstream as well. Direktflyg´s PSO contract will last until fall 2015. The contract for flights thereafter has recently been awarded to former Direktflyg partner Avies (Tallinn Lennart Meri).
