AirBlue (PA, Karachi International) will receive a single Airbus A330-200 UR-WRQ (c/n 296) on wet-lease from Windrose Airlines (7W, Kyiv Boryspil) shortly for an initial three month period. AirBlue already has three A321-100/-200 on lease from the Ukrainian operator.
With the Airbus A330-200, AirBlue reintroduces flights with wide-body aircraft having previously operated a pair of A340-300 for a brief period. After being added to the fleet in 2012 they were withdrawn from use only a little more than a year later.
AirBlue will mainly use the A330-200 on its routes linking Pakistan with Saudi-Arabia.
