t'way Air (TW, Daegu) has applied to the US Department of Transportation (DOT) for a Foreign Carriers Air Permit to offer both scheduled and chartered, passenger and freight flights between South Korea and the United States and beyond.
The LCC has requested expedited treatment as it wishes to begin scheduled B737-800 flights from Seoul Incheon to Guam International in mid-July this year. Rivals Jin Air (LJ, Jeju) and Jeju Air (7C, Jeju) already operate on the route and Jeju Air and Air Busan (BX, Busan) compete in the Busan to Guam market.
T'way operates nine B737-800s on scheduled domestic flights as well as international services to Taiwan, Japan, and China.
