Welcome Air (Innsbruck) will cut its fleet of two Do328-100 by one unit to just a sole, remaining aircraft in the near future. According to the airline, almost 20 years old OE-LKB (cn 3036) will leave the fleet while its approximately five years younger sister ship OE-LIR (cn 3115) will remain active.

The reason behind the move is the loss of the wet-lease contract with Austrian Airlines (OS, Vienna) from late March. The contract so far involves the use OE-LKB which currently mainly flies up to three frequencies a day between Linz Blue Danube and Vienna on behalf of the Austrian national carrier. Austrian itself will not replace the Welcome Air capacity and cut down the number of flights between the two cities to the six weekly departures that are already served by Austrian´s own Dash 8-400s now.
