LOT Polish Airlines (LO, Warsaw Chopin) says it will assume several of EuroLOT's routes this coming summer. Based on ch-aviation analysis of schedule data, the Polish national carrier will assume EuroLOT's Warsaw Chopin to Chisinau International, Düsseldorf, and Zagreb Franjo Tuđman routes in addition to its Gdansk to Kraków John Paul II International service.
With EuroLOT's liquidation set for March 31, LOT will incorporate its fleet of ten Dash 8-400s into its own with effect from April 1. The turboprops, which will be leased from Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC), will be joined by EuroLOT's two E175s which will continue to operate for and on behalf of the Polish government.
Earlier this month, EuroLOT's largest backer, the Polish fiscus, said it could no longer justify keeping the airline operational as “there was no prospect of profits in the foreseeable future."
