Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt International) is to order three more B777-300(ER)s for its Swiss Global Air Lines (Zurich) subsidiary which will bring to nine the total number of B777s it has on order from Boeing (BOE, Washington National). The first of the type is due to arrive later next year, with the first of the new batch only scheduled for delivery in 2017.
In other news, the German carrier has also ordered six more A320-200s for its revamped budget subsidiary, Eurowings (EW, Düsseldorf), with deliveries slated for 2016.
Lufthansa has also confirmed it will base its first of 25 A350-900s to be delivered from the end of 2016 at its Munich hub.
