Air Kärnten (Klagenfurt) will very likely not launch operations with an own Air Operator Certificate (AOC) as the start-up does not expect to receive one ahead of the first flight in May, General Manager Ingo Hitzenhammer has reported to local newspaper Kleine Zeitung.
According to the statement made to the press, the airline will therefore use an undisclosed chartered aircraft, similar to or larger than the originally planned CRJ200, from another carrier to launch operations.
Furthermore, Air Kärnten has stated that it is satisfied with the current number of bookings on the planned flights from Southern Austria to Mediterranean destinations while the number of bookings for flights from Klagenfurt to London Southend would be far below the expectations, making it questionable if the route would even be launched.
