Condor (DE, Frankfurt International) has dropped its only longhaul service out of Cologne/Bonn - to Varadero, Cuba - from its planned winter 2015/16 schedule the Airliners.de website has said. In its report, the site says the move is in response to Eurowings's impending entry into the budget, longhaul services sector later this year. As such, the Thomas Cook subsidiary has instead chosen to offer Frankfurt International-Rio de Janeiro International flights this winter.

As previously reported, Lufthansa's revamped Eurowings will make its debut later this year with flights from Cologne to Dubai, Phuket, Bangkok Don Mueang, Varadero, and Punta Cana using a pair of A330-200s wet-leased from SunExpress Deutschland (Frankfurt International).
