Swiss Global Air Lines (Zurich) has secured its Foreign Air Carrier's Permit and Route Exemption from the US Department of Transportation (DOT) roughly two months after it first submitted its application.
The Swiss (LX, Zurich) subsidiary, as such, is now able to engage in scheduled and charter flights of passengers, cargo, and mail from any point or points behind Switzerland, via any point or points in Switzerland and any intermediate points, to any point or points in the United States and beyond.
Swiss Global is planning to commence Zurich-New York JFK operations in February next year. The route will operate on-board B777-300(ER)s which Swiss will wet-lease from its subsidiary.
