Air New Zealand (NZ, Auckland International) has ended scheduled B737 operations with the type's last flight - Auckland International-Christchurch - operated by B737-300 ZK-NGI (msn 25608) on Sunday, September 6.
To mark the end of the airline's forty-seven year-long association with the type, Air New Zealand will be holding a "Final Call Tour" with the aircraft stopping in Invercargill, Dunedin, Christchurch, Wellington, Napier/Hastings, Tauranga, and Auckland between Tuesday, September 8 and Sunday, September 20. Scenic flights will be held in Christchurch, Wellington, and Auckland before it is finally parked and/or sold off.
Air New Zealand's narrowbody fleet is now an all-Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) operation with twenty-seven A320-200s currently in service.
