Estonian Air (Tallinn Lennart Meri) took delivery of its maiden CRJ700 on October 2. The ex-Lufthansa CityLine (CL, Munich) machine ES-ACF (cn 10083) was ferried from Ljubljana, where it had been in storage, to Tallinn Lennart Meri. A second of the type is expected to arrive later this week with both aircraft on two year-long leases.

Estonian is using the Bombardier Aerospace jets to replace its fleet of four E170s which are in the process of being returned to lessor Finnair (AY, Helsinki Vantaa).

“The plan is to operate altogether with 5-6 CRJ900 and CRJ700 regional jet aircraft on routes to/from Tallinn, and one smaller turboprop on Tallinn-Stockholm Bromma route from March next year. On top of that we hope to operate with another 2-4 CRJ regional jet aircraft as capacity providers to other companies,” Jan Palmér, CEO of Estonian Air, said.

ch-aviation schedule data shows the CRJ-700s will be used on flights from Tallinn Lennart Meri to Amsterdam Schiphol, Stockholm Arlanda, Brussels National, Copenhagen Kastrup, Kyiv Boryspil, Munich, Oslo Gardermoen, Berlin Tegel, Vienna, and Vilnius initially.
