Guilin Airlines (Guilin) has selected the A319-100 from Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) for its fleet requirements. China's WCARN indicates the start-up will launch domestic operations with three of the type once it completes certification with the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) later this year.
Backed with CNY600 million (USD94.48 million) in initial start-up capital, Guilin Airlines is a joint venture between the Guilin Tourism Development Co. (60%) and HNA Group subsidiary Guilin Aviation Tourism Group (40%).
Given its HNA parentage, Guilin Airlines will source its initial staff compliment from sister carrier Capital Airlines (China) (JD, Beijing Daxing International).
