Safi Airways (Kabul) is planning to approach Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) and Boeing (BOE, Washington National) over a possible order for narrowbody aircraft airline Chief Commercial Officer Joshua Bustos has disclosed.

According to Reuters, the Afghan carrier is eyeing between ten and twenty narrowbody jets capable of plying routes within a three-hour radius of Kabul such as Iran, Kazakhstan, and Kuwait.

"We're going to speak to Airbus and Boeing to determine what's available but we do plan an aggressive expansion," he said adding the A319-100, A320, and B737 were all possibilities. Leases will also be considered, he added.

The ch-aviation aircraft database indicates Safi Airways operates two A319-100s, one A320-200, and one B767-200(ER) on flights to Delhi International, Dubai International, Herat, Jeddah International, and Islamabad International.
