Sichuan Airlines (3U, Chengdu Shuangliu) along with Air China's Southwest Branch and China Eastern Airlines' Sichuan Branch have confirmed they will operate out of Chengdu's new Tianfu International Airport once it opens sometime in 2019.

According to WCARN, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has already authorised their planned operations there.

Located 51 kilometres east of downtown Chengdu, Tianfu International Airport is budgeted to cost CNY69.26 billion (USD10.84 billion) and will feature six runways and throughput of 80 million passengers per annum.
