EgyptAir (MS, Cairo International) is set to finalize a deal with Singaporean lessor BOC Aviation for eight B737-800s Egyptian Minister of Civil Aviation Hossam Kamal has revealed. The final agreement will be signed in the coming days with the new aircraft to replace the state-owned carrier's fleet of ageing A320-200s.
The carrier currently operates a fleet of twenty B737-800s using them for domestic as well as European, African, and Middle Eastern operations.
Cairo recruited Texas-based airline advisory firm, Sabre Airline Solutions is to draft a turnaround programme for loss-making EgyptAir.
