Air Europa Express began commercial flights on Monday, January 11 with two daily Valencia Manises-Madrid Barajas and a daily Valencia Manises-Palma de Mallorca return service. Operations are on-board Aeronova (X5, Valencia Manises) ATR42 turboprops while parent Air Europa (UX, Palma de Mallorca) will also transfer its fleet of eleven E195s to the LCC starting in March.
Globalia Corporación acquired local carrier Aernova in November of last year as its new regional carrier now operating as Air Europa Express, the group's latest attempt at a regional subsidiary following the dissolution of Air Europa Express (Palma de Mallorca) in 2001 and its stillborn successor Universal Airlines (Spain) (Palma de Mallorca).
