GoAir (Mumbai International), IndiGo Airlines (6E, Delhi International), SpiceJet (SG, Delhi International) and other Indian budget carriers are resisting Mumbai International Airport Ltd's plans to relocate them to Mumbai International Terminal 2 citing the facilities increased cost of use as well as lack of accessibility.

The Hindustan Times reports that during recent meetings, the LCCs have complained about MIAL's fees for using the facility as well as the added distance between remote aircraft parking bays and the terminal. This, in addition to concerns about lengthy queues at security check-points, will negatively impact on-time performances, they said.

In all, the carriers estimate the shift to Terminal 2 will see their operating costs rise by 20% to 25%. Air India (AI, Delhi International) chairman and managing director, Ashwani Lohani, told the paper that following their move to the terminal last year, their costs had risen by 15%.
