Emirates (EK, Dubai International) has formally concluded A340-500 operations with the type's last commercial flight - Kabul-Dubai International - on March 31.

As it stands, Emirates' last remaining airframe of the type - A6-ERE (cn 572) - is currently parked at Dubai International awaiting its fate.

Emirates has operated a total of ten A340-500s over the years with eight currently in storage at Lourdes/Tarbes while one is at Ras al Khaimah International waiting to be scrapped.
