Bek Air (BEK, Almaty International) is in the process of rebranding itself as Halyk Air (Almaty International) with the transition expected to be completed by the end of the year. Halyk ("Халық" in Kazakh) means 'People' and reflects the airline's resolve to reposition itself as "The Airline of the People".

Founded in 1999 as Berkut Air (Almaty International), the Kazakh carrier renamed itself Bek Air in 2011. It currently operates eight Fokker 100s on regular flights throughout Kazakhstan.
