flymojo (Johor Bahru) has missed a May 30 deadline for it to have formally commenced its AOC certification drive with the Malaysian Department of Civil Aviation (DCA).

The Malaysia Reserve business paper reports the start-up, which made headlines with an LOI with Bombardier Aerospace (BBA, Montréal Trudeau) for up to forty A220-100s in March last year, has a provisional licence, which only allows it to seek funding and to purchase aircraft.

However, as of last week, flymojo had yet to furnish the DCA with proof that it either owns or has leased a single aircraft needed to begin certification. The airline is also understood to have not submitted any request for an extension.

DCA officials who spoke to the paper also alluded to problems in using the CSeries jet given that it has yet to be certified for use in Asia let alone Malaysia.

flymojo intended to use its CS100s to operate domestic as well as regional passenger flights from hubs in Johor Bahru and Kota Kinabalu.
