El Al Israel Airlines (LY, Tel Aviv Ben Gurion) has agreed to lease one more B787-9 from an undisclosed lessor chief executive officer, David Maimon, has announced.
As part of its B747-400 and B767-300(ER) replacement programme, El AL is acquiring, through a combination of purchase and lease, sixteen B787-8s and B787-9s with options for an additional thirteen aircraft (inclusive of the B787-10 model).
The first two Dreamliners - B787-9s - are expected to arrive on lease from Air Lease Corporation in the third quarter and early fourth quarter of 2017 respectively.
