West Wind Aviation (Saskatoon) has completed its acquisition of Transwest Air (Prince Albert) with the latter now a de-facto wholly-owned subsidiary of the former. The value of the transaction, first announced in May this year, was not disclosed.
"Transwest Air and West Wind Aviation will continue to operate as separate airlines," a statement said adding that the two had now entered into a codeshare agreement on their northern Canada scheduled routes.
As it stands, both airlines are now part of the 80% First Nations ownership through ABD and the Prince Albert Development Corporation (PADC).
Transwest Air operates a diverse fleet of Saab 340As and Saab 340Bs, Beech (twin turboprop) King Airs, DHC-2s, DHC-3s, DHC-6-100s, -200s, and -300s, Piper (twin piston) Navajos, and various Bell Helicopters on scheudled and charter flights throughout the Canadian province of Saskatchewan.
For its part, West Wind Aviation operates five ATR42-300s, several Twin Otter -100s, -200s, and -300s, Beech 1900Ds, Beech (twin turboprop) King Airs, Jetstream 31s, and several Cessna Aircraft Company light aircraft.
