Charlie Airlines (Larnaca) will shortly add a maiden aircraft to its books in the form of an ex-Royal Brunei Airlines (BI, Bandar Seri Begawan) A319-100 OE-IEJ (cn 1515) Skyliner Aviation has reported.

The twinjet, owned by lessor CIT Aerospace, will likely be used by the start-up for AOC certification purposes with the Cypriot authorities. It has already announced an anticipated launch date of autumn 2016.

As previously reported, Charlie Airlines is a 40/60 joint-venture between Russia's S7 Holdings and a consortium of Cypriot investors. It will operate under the Cyprus Airways (1947) (Larnaca) brand whose licensing rights it acquired earlier this year.
