V air (Taipei Taoyuan) has ended operations following its final scheduled commercial flight - ZV10 Chiang Mai-Taipei Taoyuan - on Friday, September 30.
Of the LCC's two A320-200s and two A321-200s, one aircraft, A321-200 B-22610, (cn 6294) has already entered into service with parent firm TransAsia Airways (Taipei Sung Shan). The other three aircraft are currently parked at Taipei Taoyuan awaiting their fate.
Whereas TransAsia Airways had planned to absorb V air from October 1, it later revised those plans preferring instead to allow the unit lie dormant for a year while considering its future.
TransAsia launched V air over two years ago. However, in that time, the carrier has racked up significant losses of over TWD1 billion (USD31.55 million).
