Pegasus Airlines (PC, Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen) has issued a revised statement concerning reports last week it had availed its A320-200 and B737-800 fleets to the longterm ACMI/wet-lease markets.
The carrier had issued the following publicity announcement in an international periodical wherein it referenced the size of its operational fleet.
“Turkish carrier Pegasus Airlines, with its 74 A/C fleet, is pleased to offer B737-800 or A320 aircraft for longterm wet-lease requirements from 01 October onwards.”
However, in a communique to ch-aviation, Pegasus Airlines indicated that it had only proffered three of its aircraft to the leasing market and not its entire fleet.
"The advertisement in question referred to the Pegasus Airlines fleet of 74 aircraft - the fleet size at the time of the advertisement – purely in order to provide general information about the total Pegasus Airlines fleet size, not in relation to how many aircraft were available for wet-lease," it said.
