BoraJet Airlines (Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen) has signed a longterm lease agreements with AerCap involving three E190-E2s and two E195-E2s. The order was first disclosed this year to ch-aviation as a Letter of Intent (LOI).
As it stands, the aircraft, which are sourced from the lessor's Embraer (EMB, São José dos Campos U.E. Stumpf International) order book, will begin delivering to Borajet Airlines in 2018.
“We are the fastest growing regional airline in Europe," Fatih Akol, Chairman of Borajet Airlines, said. "Borajet’s future plans include the addition of further next generation Embraer aircraft to our fleet. Our target investment is USD1.5 billion. The first step of our investment is the induction of the five E-Jets E2 jets."
Borajet is an all-Embraer operation at present employing five EMB-190s and five EMB-195s on scheduled services throughout Turkey as well as to Germany, Lebanon, Italy, Iraq, and (Northern) Cyprus.
