Spirit Airlines (NK, Fort Lauderdale International) has taken delivery of its first A320neo following the arrival of N901NK (cn 6833) at Fort Lauderdale International from Hamburg Finkenwerder (via Goose Bay) this past weekend.
The ULCC has a total of fifty-five of the type on order from Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) with a further four due to arrive this year alone.
Spirit operates scheduled passenger flights to fifty-nine destinations spread across the United States, Central and South America, and the Caribbean. It also employs twenty-nine A319-100s, forty-five A320-200s, and fifteen A321-200s. Aside from the A320neo, it also has designs on the A321neo although no firm orders have been confirmed to date.
