Saratov Airlines (Saratov Tsentralny) has announced the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement with Kaluga Grabtsevo Airport in southwest Russia.

The tie-up will lead to Saratov Airlines developing the airfield into a base for both domestic Russian as well as international flights leveraging the airfield's discounted service charges.

Among the destinations being touted include: St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad as well as Sochi and Simferopol in summer.

Currently, Kaluga is served by Komiaviatrans (KMA, Syktyvkar), Orenburzhye Airlines (ORG, Orenburg), Ural Airlines (U6, Ekaterinburg), and Yamal Airlines (YC, Salekhard). International charters to Braunschweig/Wolfsburg, Germany, are handled by Germania (Berlin Schönefeld).
