PNG Air (CG, Port Moresby) has set a fixed date for the launch of international flights out of Mount Hagen in central Papua New Guinea airline Chief Commercial Officer, Paul Abbot, has said.
In an interview with EMTV news, Abbot said a 3x weekly return service from Mount Hagen to Jayapura, Indonesia, will commence on February 1, 2017. Once online, it will be Mount Hagen's and PNG Air's only international service.
Although the construction of a new passenger terminal was completed late last year, PNG Air has had to delay its international service plans in the wake of a prolonged government scrutinization process.
At present, PNG Air operates four ATR72-600Cs and twelve Dash 8-100s on flights to twenty-four destinations across Papua New Guinea.
