Aircalin (SB, Nouméa La Tontouta) has selected Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) for its fleet renewal plans. The South Pacific island carrier signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the European manufacturer in Noumea on Tuesday, November 29, for two A330-900neo and two A320neo.
The A320s will be deployed on Aircalin's Auckland International, New Zealand service while the A330s will be used on flights to Japan and, before long, China.
At present, Aircalin operates two A320-200s, two A330-200s, and two DHC-6-300s on scheduled passenger flights to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Japan, Tahiti, Vanuatu, and the Wallis & Fatuna Islands.
