Shuttle America (Fort Wayne International) has completed its merger into parent, Republic Airlines (Indianapolis International), after the US Department of Transportation (DOT) formally cancelled the carrier's interstate certificate on Friday, February 17.
The move follows the surrender of Shuttle America's Air Carrier Certificate (ACC) to the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on February 3.
As recently reported, with Shuttle's absorption into Republic, the latter's fleet now consists of fifty-four E170s and 117 E175s in service for American Eagle (on behalf of American Airlines), Delta Connection (on behalf of Delta Air Lines), and United Express (on behalf of United Airlines).
Following a hefty fleet and organizational restructuring programme, Republic Airways Holdings is now aiming to exit Chapter 11 bankrutpcy in March 2017 provided it can garner approval for its Debtors’ Second Amended Joint Plan Of Reorganization.
