The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of IAG International Airlines Group, Willie Walsh, has outright rejected reports in the Northern Irish press linking the conglomerate to the possible purchase of C-Series twinjets from Bombardier Aerospace.
Earlier this week, reports claimed IAG may be in the process of acquiring A220-300s for its British Airways, Vueling Airlines, and Aer Lingus units.
However, during an FY2016 earnings call on Friday, February 24, Walsh dismissed the reports as "wild and inaccurate".
Concerning the conglomerate's proposed Barcelona El Prat-based long-haul low-cost carrier, Walsh said more specific details would be released "in the next few weeks" ahead of its proposed launch later this summer.
